16/07/2010 Mok Chek Hou raised the issue of problems face by low cost apartment residents in Stulang Laut. He said that residents were annoyed that parking space and the ground floor of each blocks were turned into illegal food stalls. “The activities from food stalls are noisy and has resulted in smoke and dusts spreading to the residents living in the upper floor. “The operators run their business between late night and early morning and residents have complained to the Johor Baru City Council (MBJB) about these restaurants and food stalls,” he said adding that MBJB have not taken any action. Mok said the restaurants and food stall owners have broken the law besides creating disturbance such as changing their premises into a business area and operating without a licence.“I urge MBJB to take stern actions against these operators as the residents could no longer be patient,” he said.
